Certified Financial Planner™(CFP®)
The big picture.
Whether 10 years away from retirement, or 10 years into it, everyone wonders, “Will I have enough?” Mike Smith is a Certified Financial Planner and wealth manager with the skills to help clients answer this question with anticipation instead of apprehension.
Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) are uniquely qualified to help clients see the big picture, solve challenges, and plan to achieve specific financial goals. CFPs adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism, and diligence. As a CFP, Mike has demonstrated knowledge of stocks, bonds, taxes, insurance, retirement planning and estate planning. He is held to the highest standards and will always act in your best interest.
Mike started his career on the floor of the Boston Stock Exchange and is skilled in researching market trends and opportunities and analyzing portfolio performance. He has over 20 years of experience, helping clients successfully navigate through some of the most tumultuous markets in modern history. He enjoys the challenge of figuring out the best possible solution for each individual client regardless of the complexity of their needs and, as a fiduciary, he takes his responsibility for their financial well-being seriously.
Listening, service, and integrity are the core values that attracted Mike to the RVA Wealth Management group. Mike stays in regular contact with clients and partners with them to synthesize their hard work into a cohesive plan, putting them in control of their retirement. As an independent advisor Mike has access to a wide range of investment choices that provide additional diversification opportunities.
The bigger picture.
Family, community, and service are the guideposts of Mike’s personal and professional life. He and his wife Kelli have two sons. They have been Richmond area residents for 20 years and relish the recreational and cultural opportunities available in the area. Mike enjoys running and sports. Born and raised in Boston, he is a lifelong fan of his hometown teams. He has coached youth baseball, soccer, and basketball and he is an active member of St. Mary’s Parish, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians, a fraternal organization that promotes friendship, unity, and Christian charity.
